The difference between personal credit and business credit with Janell Davila

Credit scores are very confusing, and they get more complicated as we embark in small business ownership. The lack of understanding between personal credit scores and credit scores for your small business can be detrimental for the development of your small business, consequently, delaying the development of your personal wealth. We invited Janell Davila from Woodforest National Bank to explain the difference between both of this credit scores and how can we use them strategically for growth.

Eduardo is a co-leader of the A+FCU LatinX Employee Resource Group and a member of the credit union’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Council. With more than 15 years in leadership positions, he’s actively engaged in developing the future leaders of the credit union and helping others get involved in their community. Eduardo graduated from the Hispanic Austin Leadership Program in 2019 and was recognized as the Ambassador of the Year for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2019. He has been named a 2021 Generous Business Award Honoree in the category of Volunteer of the Year.

What is EGBI?

Economic Growth Business Incubator (E.G.B.I.) is a non-profit organization which provides training, coaching, and support to aspiring and existing business owners who face barriers to growing a successful business.
We frequently work with micro and small business owners and a lot of the businesses that we work with are still in the design state and are not active yet; or they have been in business for less than five years. Some of the businesses who partner with E.G.B.I. could be considered informal businesses and the owners are ready to transition into a more structured business entity. Typical businesses that partner with E.G.B.I. are mom & pop businesses and lifestyle businesses.

Welcome to La Incubadora Podcast! This podcast is a project of the Economic Growth Business Incubator, E. G. B. I. is a non-profit organization in Central Texas with the mission of providing training, coaching and support to aspiring and existing business owners who face barriers to growing a successful business. 
In E. G. B. I. we believe that all businesses should be profitable, sustainable, and an asset to our community and we dedicate all our efforts to paving the way for a community where this is attainable.
Our organization works with micro and small business owners who have been in business for less than five years, and many businesses we work with are not active yet. Some of the companies associated with E.G.B.I. could be considered informal businesses and the owners are ready to transition to a more structured format. Typically, companies that partner with E.G.B.I. are family businesses or what defined as a “lifestyle business” or a business that fits as part of the owner's lifestyle.
The reason we decided to launch La Incubadora podcast is because we see success stories every day, we receive the same questions very frequently and we offer practical answers, we speak with opinion leaders and experts in their industries all the time and we wanted to create a place so that our clients can listen to all this information in their own time either in audio format through a podcast streaming platform or in video on platforms such as YouTube, Linkedin or Facebook.
Additionally, all the episodes recorded will be in English and Spanish so that both communities can benefit from it, so if you prefer to listen to the information only in English, just skip the next episode.
